Holland changed its voting laws this year. Now people like me - who don't intend to become Dutch citizens but have held residency cards for at least five years - can vote in the Dutch elections. So on March 7, Ron and I walked to the polls (holding my eligibility card), and I voted for the first time.

But first we swung by the grocery store for t.p. and ice cream...
to celebrate with, of course.

Here we are at the stembureau.

Here I am voting... hopefully, my guy wins this time.

U heeft gestemd.
Success!

Time to eat the ice cream now!

it's good to go HOME
